Stopgap patching is not cost-effective for severely deteriorated pavements. But Hall Brothers Full-Depth Reclamation is. This environmentally friendly reconstruction procedure offers greatly extended service life and improved safety at far less cost than other total reconstruction methods.

We tailor full-depth reclamation to your specific pavement conditions. Before work begins, the asphalt surface, base course, and subgrade soils are sampled and tested to determine specific job parameters and the types and amounts of additives that may be needed. The old asphalt pavement is then pulverized and mixed to a specified depth with the underlying base and with stabilizing agents. This mixture is then compacted and shaped into a strong, homogeneous base for the new pavement surface.

Build on a solid base with Hall Brothers Full-Depth Reclamation...

• Cut costs by reusing existing roadway materials.

• Save time by using in-place, on-grade construction techniques.

• Eliminate base and surface problems simultaneously.

• Rebuild, stabilize, and strengthen the pavement base.

Minimize traffic disruption, detours, and downtime.

Full-depth reclamation is ideal for deteriorated county and secondary roads, city streets, and major highways. We have also successfully rehabilitated industrial driveways, parking and storage areas, as well as general aviation airport runways and taxiways.

  1. 1.Self-propelled reclaimers pulverize the existing asphalt pavement. The grade may be shaped and aggregate added at this stage, if required.

  2. 2.Our vane-type spreaders meter dry additives to the pulverized surface. Lime slurry is applied by our liquid spreaders or through the additive system built into the reclaiming machines.

  3. 3.Reclaimers mix the stabilizing additives into the reworked surface. Multiple  passes and closely monitored mixing depth ensure thorough blending and maximum strength.

  1. 4.Compaction is optimized for the type of stabilizing additive, depth of stabilization, moisture content, and weather conditions. Vibratory padfoot or tamping foot rollers are normally used for initial compaction. Pneumatic tire and steel wheel rollers complete the rolling process.

  1. 5.Special trimmers or milling machines shape and trim the base during and after compaction to ensure a smooth surface profile and the proper grade.
